i shall blog about tuesday's meeting as i have promised. ( though i dont want to )
we went to the AHA room this time. probably cos the guys were having BS in the cca room. whatever. then we began to draw our mindmap on the board. woah! the whole board was filled up. haha. then then, we sat down on the floor and discussed. don't know about what. but we just talked and talked.
miss teo came shortly after. she seemed angry. dont know why. she told us what was essential in the team. ie. court discipline, fighting spirit, teamwork. but, she didnt tell us what's the meaning of them. she told us to find out ourselves. then we went to the hall to watch the guys play. from there, we learn much more. what teamwork, fighting spirit and court discipline is. her definition of team and fighting spirit is much much more different from ours.
teamwork - reminding one another (eg. who's in front court, who's the blocker, who's the server, etc.) - support each other (verbal and non-verbal) - encourage one another - covering (when someone go block, take initiative to cover him) - calling out to each other ( saying 'let', 'outball', etc) and there's so much more i didnt jot down.
court discipline - don't lose point unnecessarily - communicate - collect info (refer to teamwork, reminding one another) - tell server where to serve and there's so much more i didnt jot down.
fighting spirit - going after the ball (no matter how far or near) - dont let the ball drop i missed out alot on this point. never pay attn =X
i know why i didnt pay attention during the later part of the meeting. cos my leg hurts. sit on the floor for like 2 hours! i was paying more attention to my poor legs. haha.
here's a little something from miss teo.
6 traits of champion
- self-analysis * knows own strengths and weaknesses * engages in honest, critical(not negative) self-appraisal
- self-competition * knows that only own performance can be controlled * benchmarks and competes against best effort
- focus *concentrates on task at hand * always stays on track 'in the present'
-confidence * uses anxiety as a motivator to achieve * sets tough but realistic goals * understands confidence feeds on the incremental success
- tough-mindedness * accepts risk as inherent in trying to win * avoids the fear of losing * sees change as opportunity * accepts responsibility for own choices
- having a game plan * knows that talent and skills are not enough * has a game plan
one word; chiminology. damn difficult to understand. haha. nvm. ms teo will go through with us some day.
what a tiring day. exam starts tmr. not gonna chiong. haha. cos it's just english and mt paper 1. though i know i have a 50-50 chance of failing mother tongue paper. whatever. haha.
